I'm not a Teamster, I'm in the mechanics union IAM Local 447 New York. I see that the new teamster contract shows they will offer a free Central States plan, but what about us non-teamsters? Will I still have the option of being under the company insurance but have to pay $20/40/60 a week? Also I have the BCBS Illinois plan in the Tri-State area. I'm a part timer, my prescriptions cost $600+ a month but thanks to Medco I only have to pay $5. Will I still have those same insurances next year but just paying $20 a week (single plan)? BTW I'm told our contract expires next August not this August so I don't know how that will effect my insurance either. I'm so confused, my union is utter crap and doesn't tell me anything, in fact they are so incompetent, constantly making mistakes with my union dues and even one of my raises.
