Impeachment Trial of The Don

The impeachment trial of The Don in the United States Senate began on January 16, 2020 and is ongoing.
It is a result of the impeachment of President Trump by the U.S. House of Representatives on December 18, 2019, following an inquiry stage which lasted from September to November 2019. The House passed two articles of impeachment, charging him with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Under Article I, Section 3, Clause 6 of the U.S. Constitution, a "Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present" is required in order to convict President Trump and remove him from office. If successful, the Senate will then have to conduct a second vote, requiring just a simple majority, to disqualify him from holding public office in the future,
meaning that the Senate could remove Trump from office but
still allow him to continue running for re-election in the 2020 presidential race.

Pelosi states that Impeachment is a solemn moment, yet she seems happy to sign the Articles of Impeachment.

It was goofy listening to Adam Schiff's opening statement!
It seemed he was saying that he and the House did a s:censored2:ty job of putting the Articles of Impeachment.

He was full of Schiff when he claimed he gave equal time to GOP in the house hearings.
Schiff got his seat after the Clinton Impeachment ... hopefully Dr Drew will return the favor.

Dr. Drew Says He's Thinking About Running for Congress

Dr. Drew Pinsky told The Hill on Wednesday he was considering a potential run against Rep. Adam Schiff for Schiff’s 28th district California congressional seat.

Schiff, a leading California Democrat who is up for re-election, has been at the center of President Donald Trump‘s impeachment as the House Intelligence Committee chairman. Trump frequently attacks Schiff, labeling him “corrupt” and calling him “Shifty Schiff.”

It was a spin ... he started off refuting the Repugs being able to call witnesses and then refuted it by saying the Repugs got equal time.

These politicians lie so much, they don't even realize when they do it.

Senate Must Vote To Admit House Evidence In Impeachment Trial
I’m afraid I don’t understand that.
That's the way it works:
The House acts as the prosecutor in the Senate trial presenting evidence they have gathered.
The President's team acts as the defence lawyers refuting the House points and presenting exculpatory evidence.
They present their evidence and the Senators debate and vote like a Jury.

There should be no need for more witnesses. It was the House's job to gather evidence. The Dems want a do over in the Senate but not going to happen. If the Senate allows any witnesses it will be the ones the House blocked from testifying before.

Well I thought so but @TheBrownFlush seemed to suggest that it would take a vote just to allow the House evidence which seems odd.
