Trump's supporters in the Senate aren't even trying to disprove the evidence the House is presenting. Instead, they keep attacking the process because it's the only chance they have of getting him off and cover their own posteriors while doing it. One thing that we can all be certain of and that is future presidents can do whatever they damn well please and if called on the carpet they will always be able to point back to the Trump acquittal and use it as political cover and license to continue to go on their merry old way  in addition to using a "Mulvaney" to crush any efforts to curb presidential power.</blockquote>
