Many are confused about getting more than .35 cent Aug. 1st. Here are the answers:

-If you were hired 07-30-04 and back $4.00=avg. of $0.80 a yr.

-If you were hired 08-01-04 to 07-30-05 $5.37=avg. of $1.07 a yr.
-$15.87 an hr.

-If you were hired 08-01-05 to 07-30-06 $5.87=avg. of $1.17 a yr.
-$16.37 an hr.

-If you were hired 08-01-06 to 07-30-07 $6.37=avg. of $1.27 a yr.
-$16.87 an hr.

-If you were hired 08-01-07 to 07-29-08 $6.87=avg. of $1.37 a yr.
-$17.37 an hr.

-If you were hired 07-29-08 to 08-01-08 $7.37=avg. of $1.47 a yr.
-$17.87 an hr.

-If you were hired 08-02-08 and on $3.37=avg ofavg. of $0.67 a yr.
-$11.87 an hr

-better example is after twelve yrs with ups i will make $19.77 and a 5 yr vet will make $17.87 an hr. a $1.90 difference for 7 more yrs of service?

HOW DID THIS LOOPHOLE HAPPEN I WONDER IF UPS OR THE TEAMSTERS NOTICED THIS LOOPHOLE AND AS FAR AS I CAN TELL OUT OF THE 4000 PLUS TEAMSTERS AT MY HUB ABOUT 2500 OF THEM ARE IN LINE FOR THE $5.37 INCREASE AND UP AFTER 7 YRS WITH THE COMPANY I CURRENTLY MAKE $16.12 AN HR. HOW WILL SOMEONE WITH FIVE YRS MAKE $17.87 AN HR. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE SLAP IN THE FACE WE ARE NOT UNIFIED AND ALL IN ALL WE ARE WEAK OUR UNION IS WEAK IF UPS WAS WILLING TO GIVE NEW HIRES AN RAISE OF OVER $7.00 DOLLARS A HR. WE ALL COULD HAVE GOT IT TOO!!!!!!!! NEXT TIME STAND TOGETHER AND VOTE DOWN EVERYTHING!!! WE NEED TO STRIKE **************** IMPEACH HOFFA HE IS A ******* WE MUST DEMAND AS FOLLOWS AND DAMN VOTE ME IN AND I WILL MAKE SURE WE GET:

-NEW HIRES STARTING PAY A MINIMUM OF $14.50 AND A $6.00 HIKE FOR EVERYONE ALREADY EMPLOYED

-A DAILY GAURANTEE OF 4 HRS FOR P/TIMERS

-A PENSION FOR P/T AND friend/T
-10YRS 35% OF BASE PAY
-20YRS 50% 0F BASE PAY
-25YRS 60% OF BASE PAY
-30YRS 70% OF BASE PAY
-35YRS 80% OF BASE PAY

-THE STOPING OF P/T LABOR(EXCEPT FOR STUDENTS ONLY 10% OF HUB WORKFORCE WILL BE ALLOWED TO HAVE P/T JOBS) WHEN P/T EMPLOYEES LEAVE COMPANY FOR ANY REASON AWARD THEIR JOB TO CURRENT P/T EMPLOYEE AND CREATE COMBO

- THE COMPLETE HALT OF ANY SUBCONTRACTING

-FINALLY THE DISMANTLING OF AUTOMATED HUBS AND ANY TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL DISPLACE US IN THE FUTURE

THIS IS ALL OBTAINABLE IF WE FIGHT TOGETHER AND QUIT SELLING EACH OTHER OUT SO ITS A BETTER RETIREMENT FOR ME AND SCREW WHOEVER IS AFTER OR PAY US AND FORGET ABOUT NEW HIRES

FIGHT UNIFY AND WIN 2013 WE CAN BREAK BROWNS BACK AND NEVER LET THIS OPPONENT RISE AGAIN BECAUSE IF WE KEEP PUSHING EVENTUALLY BROWN WILL FALL OFF THE CLIFF

FIGHT UNIFY AND WIN 2013 WE CAN BREAK BROWNS BACK AND NEVER LET THIS OPPONENT RISE AGAIN BECAUSE IF WE KEEP PUSHING EVENTUALLY BROWN WILL FALL OFF THE CLIFF

Why would anyone associated with UPS want the company to "fall off the cliff"?
I don't get it.
Am I missing something?

to last response my numbers in wages are dead on everyone in progression receives these wages...pay very close attention to this people in progression receive $1.00 dollar after 90 days, if you received 50 cent that is why you just got an extra .50 cent...y'all get .50 after yr 1 then .50 after 2 then .50 cent after 3 then .87 after 4 plus you get .35 8/08 .35 2/09 .375 8/09 .375 2/10 .375 8/10 .375 2/11 .425 8/11 .425 2/12 .475 8/12 .475 2/13

of the cliff analogy is that we should never give back... not send the company into bankruptcy... if you look at any studies on how all upsers are being shafted you would see that if our wages rose with other industrys are starting wages would be somewhere around $16.00 and we would be at $24 after two years with company...and if you think its too much money then think of this maybe they should take money out of mgmt's pockets like their retention, safety, frequency and their peak season stock options...then theres also the one i love more than any is their sign everyone in their area up for united way bonus...then what about their company credit cards that they use to buy thousands of dollars worth of take-out and delivery food that the buy the entire operations, training and specialist sup's breakfast, lunch and dinner with everyday of the week

here is a valid arguement i think all will agree to with a lick of common sense is this:
we should lower the wages of hoffa and his entire crew and dont forget hall to the $8.50 an hr. we all started at and make them go through the same wage progression we all go through...get on board and sell them out as they did us and then i would feel proud as we all should of the $10.25 a wk i pay into the dues coffer every week and the $4.75 and up the brothers and sisters pay then take the 6 figure salarys they make and divide them amongst us all and make it a permanent cola

I see where you are coming from in my opinion the workers make the money therefore they should share the profits. I know drivers get paid well, but the part timers dont get what they deserve.Im not saying its a horrible place to work cause we do get great benifits, which you have to figure that price into your hourly rate too. Management deffintly are overpaid. Of course ive never done there job so I havnt walked in there shoes but from what ive seen.

I complain a lot. Let me ask you this are you really satisfied with the contract that just got ratified? That is the problem everyone complains and does nothing about it. Hmm...maybe we should change that and walk the walk not talk the talk and another problem is we are on the same team and you sit there and take cheap shots instead of standing side by side and fighting for what we all deserve. Our company makes billions every year they can afford to pay us right and give us the health and pension we deserve. This is the classic battle between the north and south of the civil war...and yes i have taken it that far. The south wants slaves for cheap labor while the north thinks all are created equal and deserve one mainstream of rights...And this thought you should put in youre pipe and smoke is that both sides came together for their own cause and good prevailed as were evil did not...WE MUST UNIFY AND FIGHT FOR ONE PURPOSE.ONE BAND ONE SOUND!!!!!!

Where i stand is not that UPS is horrible we do have great benefits and for the most part things arent that bad... But if we keep letting our union leaders roll over and hand them what pros we do have about the job then soon they might be handing our benefits over too and i think mgmt. made the first move by freezing benefits for 1 yr for new hires

You can win the battle sometimes but we won't win the war anytime soon. there are too many in the dark, unwilling part-timers that just don't get it and really don't care to. They see these token raises and benefits and are happy with it. They don't care about language, they don't care who the president is as long as he says UPS AND TEAMSTERS AGREE VOTE YES, they don't care about full-time raises, they don't care about 9.5 language, they don't care about the little things that are important to others. Basically aside from their 75 cent raise and benefits, The rest of the language they don't care about.

This is still part-time america here at UPS.

I asked a kid on the sort aisle what he thought of Ron Carey and Hoffa, the flow was kinda dead, and he said "whos that?" LOL Then I asked him who Jim Casey was and he said "is he a manager?"

The average Teamster now has shifted into managements hands, silly putty waiting to be massaged and molded into a yes guy who pushes an unsafe amount of work down the conveyer because he doesn't know better.

How do we change this? What is there to change really? It will take new leadership for one, but for that to happen there will have to be major concessions in the future contracts and overwhelming unhappiness from brothers and sisters that actually know better.

So in the end, things likely will have to get worse to get better.

Reply on wages in new contract shady is 100% correct workers with 4yrs or more will only receive $4.00 over life of agreement. Individuals with less than 4 yrs will receive packages up to $7.00 something an hr. Info based off of Union leaders at my locals monthly meeting. How did the teamsters not notice this and demand this for all. A better question is did UPS not notice this? How did their lawyers let this get by? By the end of agreement i will have 12 yrs and be at $19.77 with no cola adjustments my wife that will have 6 yrs at the end of the agreement will be at $16.87 with skilled $1.00 included in both. That is a $1.90 difference in pay for double her time. Which im not complaining because it benefits our household and our children, but sheshhh!

I don’t get it, the progression plus yearly raises being greater than your yearly raises is what you are complaining about? You already went through the progression and got the progression wage increases.

I If you actually read what he posted you would notice that he didnt go through the progression of .50 after 90 days and .50 a yr for first 3 yrs and .87 for 4 yrs. He received the $6.27 i (we all) received over the 02-08 contract. He is complaining about receiveing $4.00 while people between new hires up to almost 4 yrs with the company can receive $5.00 to $7.00 over life of contract.

I am truly shocked. All the naysayers here have led me to believe that ups pays part timers 8.50 an hour for the rest of their lives. Can these wage scales actually be right? Next thing you'll try to tell me that there is some kind of progresson that quickly bumps part timers up a couple of bucks an hour. Naaah that would be a stretch.
