I have done this several times. You dont need to go down to the center. Call them and tell them whats going on and fax them the DR. note. It will save you a trip. I usually do fax it from my Dr.'s office. In my area the note is not required until your 5th day off.

Also if your out long enough teamsters have a disability benefit that will pay you part of your wages while your out. I know 2 people that collected it for 6-9 months.

There are plenty of such cases of injury where the company did provide the pension and Pension and H&W funds for the period when the employee was not fit to return to work. Though there would be minor changes in the law at different places but the base to provide the pension and Pension and H&W funds would remain the same. There are some companies who do not resort to pay the employee and that the reason that the law had to be passed to take care in this regard. It's good to know that Heart did get what he was due for.
