I work part time as a local sorter
We have to work at least 45hours a month to get insurance. My question is If i already worked 45hours for the month of april and quit next week, would i get my full coverage until the end of may (if for some reason i need my insurance from the time i quit until end of next month)

If you need the insurance why don't you stick it out till then??

If he has his 45 hours already he should be fine for May. We work this month (or quarter) for benefits for the following month (or quarter).

When I was a casual we needed 36 days in a quarter to get benefits, which were for the following quarter.

"Here, benefits are three month blocks. Hours from Jan-Mar, for ex, pay for Apri-June. "

sO If i would quit now i would getg insurance until the end of JUNE?

someone at work told me my insurance would END on my last day of work

As a couple people have already said . . . it is different in each local. In mine you need to work 500 hrs. every 6 months. And then you are good for the next 6 months. Your best bet is to call your local union.
