Yeah some of the higher paying PD jobs have been appealing before. I guess I'm just tired of the monkey suit. Moving for a street officer job isn't very motivating. Big cities recruit here several times a year.... Almost went to border patrol once. I actually spoke to our Sr. Security Specialist. He said I have a chance already being with the company. They would have to have a good reason to outsource and not promote from within. The HR guy told me 6-7 months ago that only exempt experience will convert to the years of education needed. After speaking with our Sr. S.S. I searched in the FedEx system for actual rules in the matter of education. I was surprised and delighted to find that non-exempt will transfer 2-1. Also that 30 completed hours of education counts as 1 year. You only need the full Bachelors or 2 year when it says "completed bachelors". For accounting and engineering type jobs. 15 openings in the security field will be posted soon. Depending on the market Security officers make $46,000ish, Security specialist 1 makes $54,000ish, 2 makes $62,000ish, 3 makes over $73,000. The goal is to reach Sr which could be over $100,000 depending on the market of course. I will try for as many openings as I can. I assume with that many opening movement will start all over the security board. Hopefully I will get in there some where.
