They have contracts for the school year (however many days that is), they have the option of receiving incremented checks either during the time actually spent in school or to have it incremented in 12 payments. They are not paid for the months between school years. Yes some of those that choose to have their checks only when school is in session do file unemployment during the summer months. Some get part time jobs during the summer. Christmas and spring break essentially paid time.  You're welcome.</blockquote>
