Since July 4th is on Saturday, does anyone get paid for it? I normally have weekends off.

I’m still not happy about this. I want a floater to use at another time.
At Ground the only way you'll get paid for the 4th is if you work the 4th. Ground is to Fedex Corp what the character "Pig Pen" is to the "Peanuts" comic strip only here in real life this "Pig Pen" is keeping the entire corporation from going below the "Mendoza Line". At least Memphis much to it's pain and despair finally admits it.

Working Mon-Fri and the paid holiday on Sat. creates a 6 day punch. This means time and a half on Fri.
What the hell kind of math is that?

M-friend is 5 days, Sat is 6. The observance for the 4th business wise is the 3rd this year.

But this is FedEx so it will probably be like getting a physical "Paid not worked" and not involve the workweek so just straight 8hrs and not overtime.

I guess I never noticed if they did since it was only an hour or so and I always seem to have overtime. I just figured it was like a personal day (or is it floating) and didn't count towards OT.

Oh I see, you work for FedEx. At UPS they pay time and a half on Friday. Because the holiday creates a 6 day punch. You need to check your local. I’m sure you’ll get it. If you work Mon-Fri. Other wise your union is weaker than mine.

This would be partially correct. If you're paid holiday pay it counts toward OT, but M-friend should be paid holiday cash, which does not. If paid correctly it will not trigger any OT.
