Lawsuits filed against UPS in deadly Birmingham crash - Atlanta Business Chronicle
A group of residents living near Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport have filed a lawsuit over the deadly Aug. 14 crash of a UPS jet.
The suit, filed Oct. 8 against Atlanta-based United Parcel Service Inc. (NYSE: UPS) and the Birmingham Airport Authority, seeks monetary damages and claims negligence by the authority and UPS resulted in property damage and mental anguish.
Among other things, the suit claims recent expansions of the airport made a crash "unavoidable."
