Liberty Mutual

Got hurt early September. Been out doing physical therapy a couple times per week, and seeing the UPS Dr.
Scheduled a scan for today-about 10 days ago.
Got a call saying Liberty Mutual still hasn’t approved scan so now waiting another 2 weeks. Pretty significant injury as I’m on crutches.

I am not ok with the way this is going. My question is should I be speaking to a lawyer? UPS/LM seem to be unorganized and/or messing with me.

IMO, a lawyer would only be necessary if and when LB fails to pay you or denies you treatment. Have you seen your own Dr.? It's important that you control the treatment process not your employer. Did you report right away? Did you fill out an injury report? Did you receive a claim number? If you can answer yes to all of these, do yourself a favor and see a DR with your best interest in mind.

Always speak with a lawyer when you’re injured at work. Not doing so it’s taking a risk that’s not worth it. There are way too many variables in each state for anyone on here to give you accurate information, and the only ones who can give you honest accurate information is when you have a attorney. Injury lawyers usually cost you nothing upfront and they generally win more money then you would’ve got on your own so you come out ahead almost every time. Liberty mutual and UPS do not have your best interest in mind.

I’m going through it right now, I’m waiting to get approved for physical therapy. The longer I’m out, the more they got to pay me. It seems like their best interest would to hurry up and get this :censored2: over with

I have not seen my own Dr. Yes I reported the moment it happened. Yes I have claim number.

Interesting you would advise someone they don’t need a lawyer, even though UPS has dozens of them working against him right now?

I messed up my shoulder and Liberty mutual rep set an appointment with a neck specialist. Went for the appointment and had to reschedule with shoulder specialist that was another 2 weeks out. They are in no rush to get you back or to use their brains.

We have a discounted lawyer. Charges nothing up front and he just takes a percentage of the payout. Takes a smaller percentage for ups employees. The piece of mine of having an attorney handle the workers comp is worth it.

It's "peace of mind". Just saying in case you want to use that phrase again.

A lawyer will tell you as long as they are paying you and the treatment meets your needs, there's nothing for him to do. Once LB begins to play games with either, by all means get legal advice.

Don't know the WC laws in whichever state that you reside in but you should be treating with your own doctor.
