After I had put in 30 full time years my wife would ask me “when are you going to retire” I would just tell her I will know when. I would think about it at times but I couldn’t see myself retiring and this went on for years then one day I just woke up and I couldn’t see myself doing this anymore. All fears that had kept me from wanting to retire was gone. From that day in Feb 2020 I set a retirement date of Oct 30 2020 and started getting everything in order to leave. I never looked back. Spend this time getting your questions answered and running numbers to see how much money you will need to live. The more you know the more comfortable you will be when you make the decision.
