Luckily, I was able to have a panel hearing only 4 weeks after being discharged. I was told that a decision will come down within 10 days of the panel. There were only 3 cases heard, 1 payroll and 2 terminations. My termination case is violation of article 35, (pre-work/ random) blew a positive BAC 4 years after going through an alcohol counseling program. The other was a part-timer cursing off his management and being escorted out. It has been 8 days, and with my offense being numbers based, what is taking so long? What goes on behind the scenes? Everyone says panels are a crapshoot and sometimes deals are cut. I have no outstanding discipline, safety, or accidents, and I do have a good reputation with my coworkers and management. I have no DUIs, and haven't gotten a ticket in 11 years. I run 150 clicks under on all 15 trips I know. The labor manager even said that my center manager has nothing but positive things to say about me, and the center manager did not give a statement during the hearing. There was no rebuttal of the statements given by both myself and my BA. And the panel didn't try to intimidate me or press hard. Does it sound like I have a shot? I understand I committed a cardinal infraction, and our plea was basically just asking for a reduction from discharge (Non-reference-able/ Non-precedent setting). I'm tired of bothering my BA and I'm hoping to get some other input.
