Local UPS driver holds nation's record: no accidents in 50 years - Hometown Life

Thomas Camp, a driver with the parcel delivery service for more than 50 years, has gone his entire career without an accident when delivering packages.

He's the only driver in the country with more than 50 years of driving experience without any type of accident. The typical driver will have five during their 30-year career, said Chris Yohn, a spokesman for UPS.

Camp said a watchful eye and safe distances are his secret behind safe driving during his career. Modern technology, such as cell phones, has increased distractions drivers have, making it more difficult.
