I literally stepped out of the house only twice this whole weekend. Once to get the groceries from my wife and the other to grab something out of the car. I was so friggin bored sitting around all weekend, watching tv that I almost look forward to going back in tomorrow.

Normally, I try to so something meaningful on the weekends, don't know why I didn't this weekend but it got me thinking what does everyone do on their days off? Some of the things I do on my days off are:
gold panning / metaldetecting
photography
fishin
casinos
mini road trips (car or bike)
chores, tinker, surf the net

So how does everyone else keep themselves occupied on their days off. There is such a diverse mix of us, I'd be willing to bet alot of us share some of the same interests / hobbies.

Last night we went out for my wife's birthday. Today I mowed the grass and washed my Jeep. Thats about the extent of my weekends. I am looking to buy a new mountain bike and get back into that to have something to do and get some exercise.

I like to pig out on weekends!

I just eat, eat and eat. I hover around the kitchen a lot during the weekends.

Other than that, I like cycling, hiking and doing yard work.

Drinking coffee hanging with the family outside work. I do inside work. Go on family adventures have a couple drinks. Meet friends to hang out jerk off and the ocasional union business.

I like to go walking in a local state park I do volunteer work at. I mowed the grass, cut up a tree, and took down my vegetable garden yesterday. Today after church, I bottled up some Oktoberfest home brew, it will be ready in two or three weeks.

I got a $1500 bike that hasn't seen the light of day in 2 years. It does look really cool hanging off the ceiling though!

Kudos on your state park volunteer work. When my boys get older, I'd like to look into doing something like that.

I took most of the summer off because of my hernia surgery, I got my exercise by hiking 3-5 miles on the trails several times a week. I used to go backpacking a lot with my boys as their scout leader, I miss those days. I joined a volunteer group that helps maintain the park, it might be an option for me to go ahead and retire from UPS and take a paying job there to keep me busy.

I have a working wife. Seems like we spend half the weekend cleaning house and running errands. Outside of that it's gardening, boating/fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with the grandkiddies.
Seriously need to get back into going to church again. Miss that but you blink and it's Monday.

To be the man, you gotta beat the man.
Usually, I do yard work, then lay around the house. I take my wife and kid to eat in the evenings most weekends or try to find something to do, bowling, or skating. This is the norm, I enjoy just sitting on the couch watching TV with my family, or walking around the block. I don't get to see them as much since I started in feeders. As for things for myself and usually once or twice a month, I like riding fourwheelers, shooting guns, playing golf, playing poker, fishing etc. Luckily my wife lets me do whatever I want, I just choose not to do those all the time.

I always like trying new homebrews. There are some talented cooks out there, I bet yours is gonna be tasty!

I bowled for quite a few years on various leagues but not so much anymore. I don't know of too many candlepin centers anymore and now just don't have the time to be in a league. Poker....well I don't want to talk about that...played professionally when I lived in Vegas. Should have stayed, I hate the weather here but playing was just like a job...8-14 hours in a casino. Good days, bad days, 5-7 days a week.

I'm so obsessed with my job I pretend I'm still doing it on the weekends out of my personal vehicle and with no actual packages. Sometimes with my wife or one of my kids as a helper. Also with no actual packages. Just pantomiming.
