I was carrying two boxes to the 3rd floor of an apartment complex. I tripped up the last set of steps and the packages and the DIAD4 went flying. The DIAD slid between the steps and fell 3 stories down to the ground. It didn't crack it but the display went all white and wouldn't work. I think the DIAD functions worked but you couldn't see what it was doing. I had to wait 1 hour for a new one to be brought out to me. I figured I would be in trouble but nothing was ever said to me. I know one driver in our center that lost his DIAD on I-85 by the hub. He retraced his steps and found it in between the lanes and the exit ramp to our hub. I'm guessing it was run over many times and finally came to rest in the emergency lane. It still worked! Gotta love those DIAD3's!
