I was in a Target parking lot. Walking to my car, I saw an older couple struggling with packages. I started to move towards them to help. I saw a group of young males, walking across the parking lot...without a care in the world. All of a sudden, one boy broke off from the group and jogged to the struggling couple. I continued to walk to the same couple. Of course, he made it to them before I did and he helped them load their car. The couple could not stop thanking the young man and the man pulled out his wallet. I was close enough to listen to the man offer the young man a tip. The young man declined and waved the offer off. I crossed the path of the young man at the cart bay as he was returning the cart and yelling to his friends to hold on and wait for him. I said something to him. I wanted to acknowledge his random act of kindness. He said, "Thanks." I walked past him and then I turned. I had my husband's car with me and I knew I had Monster Energy Baseball caps and sweatshirts in the trunk. I shouted, "Hey, do you drink Monster?" He pulled a can of Monster Energy Green out and waved it. I shouted, "Hey, I have something for you." He walked back towards me looking puzzled. I pulled out a Monster cap and hoodie and handed it to him. His eyes just got huge...."wow!" he exclaimed. Of course, I knew that I was handing him something valued by his peers. He asked, "Why?" I simply said, "I saw you break away from your buddies to help that couple...and you refused to take a tip..." He then said, "...my dad taught me that the simple acts of kindest can make the difference in a life..." He broke away from me, waving his new Monster Energy gear...
