U wanna know another problem? All u guys with lazy ass wives who stay at home and spend your money. I'm 30, been full time for 4 years. I made sure my wife went to school, not just for me but for her. I want her to feel like she has her own nest egg and spending money. I bought a new house when I topped out last year for 250k, sold my old starter house an made a nice 35k profit. I dump 5% into a Roth 401k, 2 into my 401k and I also put money away into a Roth ira. We still make enough to travel, save ect. I own nice cars, go out often and live the good life. Nice cars and nice things isn't the problem. Lazy ass wives and kids are. Every raise I get from here on out is going straight for retirement. I don't understand how you 40 something's can't dump at minimum 10-15% into a retirement account. Another option once you have 150k or so is to buy a house cash and rent it out. That is a steady 1200 a month to add to your retirement, with a good possibility that within 15 years it will be worth double both equity wise and rent wise Maybe I have no clue what I'm talking about, but compared to my peers I'm 10 steps ahead of them. Iv seen my parents screw it all up and it will not be me. I'm going to a foreign country this year to look at a piece of property to buy real soon. This said country my wifes family are citizens of, it has universal health care, and the bang for buck is great. I want to be out of the work force doing my own money making one way or another by 50. We are blessed to make 90k a year and should enjoy it a bit but also be smart
