Seems strange, they more than had their 90 days in by Aug 1st last year, they shoulda got the 70 cents like the rest of us. Interesting to see what happens with them. Remember, they were hired in Sept 2012, not 13.

You are right it should be .70 But I'm afraid there will have to be grivences filed to get the right pay.

Hello,

I'm one of those part-time guys who did not receive a .70 raise this week on my check. I started in Sept. of 2009. In September of 2013 (on my anniversary date) I received a .99 cent raise which bumped me up to 12.99? I'm assuming this was to get me to seniority +4 years per old contract ~ $12.87 + .12 COLA. Am I correct about that?

Anyways, on the check I received this week, I did not receive a .70 cent raise, but I did get a .51 cent raise which bumped me to 13.50...which is seniority + 4 years per the new contract. Is that correct?

Regarding the .70 cent raise, should I have received that as well? And, since I didn't, what should I do? Also, am I entitled to a retroactive check dating back to Aug. 1, 2013?

I've talked to 2 stewards at my hub and have received 2 different answers, as I expected. One told me I should have received it and am due a retroactive check. The other said that since I was still in progression (as of Aug. 2013) I do not get the .70 cent raise nor will I get a retroactive check.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you are still in progression on Aug 1 2013 then you get the .70 If that is still lower then the new rate then you get the new rate. Yes you get a retro check. You get the .70 back to Aug 1

Thanks for the reply, Quigley.

So, on Aug. 1st 2013, I was making $12. On my anniversary date in Sept. 2013, I was giving a .99 cent raise to $12.99. On this week's check I received a .51 cent raise to put me @ $13.50. So, I essentially received a $1.50 raise over this time frame.

Am I getting paid what I should be getting? Or should I expect .70 cents more on top of the 13.50 I now make?

They have forgotten they got a raise on their anniversary date, which was after Aug 1. This new 50 cent raise they just got brings them to the new rate for their tenure.

They will be owed 70 cents retro from Aug 1 till their anniversary date, then 20 cents from that date until they got the last 50 cents. It's really not all that hard to figure out.

Quigley: I've read the contract, specifically the portion you've cited. So, I should be making $14.20 instead of $13.50, correct?

According to guys like "Oak", this isn't the case.

So lets assume the contract went into effect on Aug 1 like it was supposed to. You were making $12. You would have got the .70=$12.70 The new rate is $13.00. Since you cant make less then the new rate you would have got the extra .30. In Sept on your anniversary date you would have went up to $13.50. So your pay is right. You are just owed retro pay back to Aug 1.

And how would this work for full time drivers still in progression ..1 1/2 yr received no raise or bump up...a new hired employee with just 31 days of señority makes more then us 1-2 yr drivers

The same applyes to full time. If you were in progression on Aug 1 you will get the .70. However you cant make any less then the new rate. So 12+months senority , old rate is $18.45 + .70= $19.15 New rate is $19.50 So you get $19.50
