Can 22.4 request off on Saturday? We've been sending extra 22.4's home on Saturday while not using any m-friend rpcd. In Atlantic 639.

UPS is not a main job for me , just using it to pay off excess things , been here 2 years now and occasionally they’ll send a new guy home without asking me ... can I grieve this ?
Arguably you can grieve it but in our area this has always been addressed informally because seniority is king in our Local.

Any preferential situation always goes by seniority?

If someone is being asked to go home and a senior guy wants to go home then seniority always prevails.

Thankfully my Local has such a high regard for seniority.

That's the way I think it should be.

I would grieve every time someone goes home before me. Puts it on record that there is a violation of "seniority shall prevail at all times." Grievance gets held in abeyance. Company says they won't do it again (ha ha) and grievance can be brought up if another violation occurs.

There is nothing in the contract for taking unpaid days. Past practice is the only guide. In my building, when a high seniority guy made a stink about it, the boss said that he would lay off from the bottom up, no more dead days. It lasted a year, which was way longer than I thought it would last.
