Most would look at 15 cents and not think much about it. But that 15/hr becomes a part of your wage and at the end of the contract is the base wage that any increase is based off of. If you don't receive it, it is lost forever. Of course in my entire career with UPS, I think I've only seen 1 or 2 cola raises. The rest (if any) I believe were automatically rolled into the H/W plans.

Whether the raise is in the form of an actual increase in the hourly wage or is thrown in to the H/W, it is still additional compensation and, in light of the number of companies laying off and even going out of business, any additional compensation should be accepted with a hearty "Thank you."
