The big problem is that the bulk of our spending is the obligations on autopilot. Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, national defense, and now interest on the debt surpassing defense spending. No one has the will to fix entitlements and the population would just burn the country down if they did. Therefore, we will go bankrupt and have nothing instead of reasonable cuts now. Sorry, but the retirement age has to be phased upwards. The collection ages were set when people lived decades less.</p></blockquote><p></p>
