Norman Brothers Jr. didn’t arrive at his job as United Parcel Service Inc.’s general counsel in the typical fashion. That’s probably a big reason he doesn’t do the job in a typical fashion.
He does it very effectively, though.
“In his first four years as general counsel, Norman has accelerated the reimagining of the UPS legal team,” said Scott Price, UPS’ chief strategy and transformation officer. “While UPS has engaged in an enterprise-wide transformation, he has led a far-reaching transformation of the company’s legal function that has yielded new levels of effectiveness and efficiency. He is building the corporate legal department of the future at UPS — one that is more predictive, more productive, more accountable and more tightly aligned with the underlying business.”
