Not sending in your vote.

    Just curious if I do not vote on the contract (do not send it my ballot) is that a “no” vote or what? P.S. I'm voting a big NO. The pay increase for part timers and full timers is a joke!!

    Wait until you actually get the details from your local before you make a premature decision. If you choose not to vote, it counts as neither a yes or no. You have to vote to be counted.

    Exactly!!! Just like the presidential elections. I don't care who someone votes for... They voted.

    If you are in the WEST, youd better pay attention.

    The western conference has "carved itself" out of the health care debate and will NOT be placed into the central states. Instead, the WEST will create its own "administrators" in cooperation with the company to purchase and control the health care plans..


    The WEST indicates that it will take at least 6 months to find plans that are "SIMILIAR" to the plans that we are currently under. Here we go with the Symantics.. Similiar is not IDENTICAL.

    NOWHERE is ANY local in the WEST using the word "IDENTICAL".

    "SIMILIAR" is the key word. Dont confuse the two words, as they have different meanings. In the west, our retirees are now facing LARGER copays and participation rates! For the 1st year, a single retiree will pay 50 bucks a month for insurance, then in the 2nd year, it DOUBLES to $100.00, then in the third year it DOUBLES again to $200.00, then in the fourth year, it nearly DOUBLES to $350.00 !!! And thats for a single person. its EVEN HIGHER for family members!!

    THIS IS NO VICTORY FOR UPS RETIREES..! The union is claiming they dont have any control or power to negotiate this aspect of insurance and the retirees are "STUCK" with this.

    For current employees in the WEST, you can expect the same rates if not higher for participation as we are still employed. Additionally, WE will be overcharged to COVER the retirees who are going to be paying LESS into the new teamster administrated health care plans.


    Also, PROGRESSION going to 4 years is a JOKE and a major concession again by the international and supported by our locals!

    Any new full time driver will have to work 4 years to reach top pay under this new language!

    These are important issues for us in the Western Conference, and if you dont vote, or suggest that you are not voting, or you are toying with the idea of not voting, then you dont deserve to be talking about this in the first place.

    CS retirement cost for health care is $200 + $200 for spouse per month. The CS teamsters are going to favor this contract because it helps to close the gap that exists in the retirement amount that full time UPS employees receive.
