I've got a 2 car unheated attached garage that is very well insulated with top of the line insulated garage doors. It never gets cold enough to freeze in there with all the heat coming off the engines and catalytic converters of my truck and car when you drive them into it. I know this for a fact because all winter long I have a puddle on side of the garage where my dip-:censored2: cement contractor made the floor about a half inch lower than the floor drain. Even at 20 below the garage stays about 40 degrees.
Most garages are not insulated. So, your anecdote sounds nice and is totally irrelevant.

There is always some maroon who hears a plain and obvious statement like "Most garages are roughly the same temperature as the outside"

And then decides to explain why his doesn't meet that general description.

They want to turn everything into personal story time, as if it refutes the general assertion.

It's usually something women do.
I don’t know where you live but where I live and I’m sure where Rod lives most garages are insulated or heated or both.

I would agree with that, oil changes are ridiculous on price now I can be done with it in 20 minutes tops.
I'm just saying what you can tell your wife. If she believes it took 3 hours, she might also believe it saved 150 bucks.

I stopped changing my oil when I realized it cost more. Mechanics use it around here as a loss-leader to get in the door. It's more expensive for me to do it myself.

Her expedition cost $140 for synthetic oil change I can do it for $40. I don’t always do it but I definitely can do it much cheaper there’s always a sale at the auto store on oil and filters. Most people don’t like to do it, so that’s fine I always enjoyed working on cars even as a youngster, that’s getting to be less and less as I get older but I still don’t mind tinkering in the garage. And I bought a lot of cool tools I need to justify using lol.

I quit when I could no longer fit under my car without ramps.
