Opening an IRA

Does anyone have an IRA account in addition to their 401k, that they contribute to weekly? Did you do that through Prudential as well, or did you use an outside institution, e.g., Vanguard.

It's a vicious cycle
I have a vanguard account with a roth IRA, a traditional IRA and a retail brokerage account.
I max my 401k and IRA every year. in my IRAs i have mostly VTSAX (total US stockmarket) and some VIGAX (growth side of the indexes)
i contribute weekly to my IRA automatically so as to hit the cap the last week of december (they do all this for you). when i leave UPS or switch to management i will roll over my 401k asap.

2020 was the first year I was able to max out my 401k (hit top pay in August) but my next goal will be to max out a roth IRA as well. I decided to go with Fidelity because I had an account with them from working at a former job. If you're maxing out your tax-advantaged accounts and contributing to a brokerage, well what can I say, you're one of the big dogs. :happy-very:
