Package fell off truck, literally.

I was getting a few misloads from another driver, and like an idiot I forgot to lock the back door. I had a Weber grill in the very back of the truck, and at my next stop I noticed it was gone. I drove the .25 miles to where I was and circled repeatedly with no luck of finding it.. Called Management and they came out and looked over the area as well. What could happen in this situation? I've been a PT Cover Driver for about 3 years (and never lost a package), been with UPS for 10. I dont mind paying for the package, I just don't want to lose my job.

Someone grabbed that sucker as soon as it hit the street; probably didn't have time to throw a shadow.

Don't see you losing your job over this, probably a warning letter.
Everyone that has ever driven has left the rear door open at least once.

Learn from this.

That's good to know. Thanks.... I was hoping an honest person would have taken it to a UPS store. I mean it was literally a 5 minute span if that.

You'll be ok; calling mgmt. right away will be in your favor.
The only people that don't make mistakes are out at the cemetery.
