I mentioned this thread to me wife! We started talking about it because we both worked when we were young. We believe our life's choices to pack our lunches stemmed mostly from the shear cost of eating out. Don't get me wrong occasionally I would, but it was very, very rare for us to stop and buy food. I just saw it as a cost. Virtually nothing but time to pack food for lunch as opposed to the stopping to get food, albeit only being less than 5 buck's on average. That was a 100 bucks a month or 200 if Momma was doing it too. 200 bucks a month went a lot further then I guess, or is it all relative? Actually 30 years of choices similar to this allowed me to retire at 49 years of age! Not only that but as a Family we travelled a bunch, Surfed, Motorcycles, Hot Rods, Boating/Water Skiing and Camping! We don't feel like we missed out on anything other than someone saying "YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT"? Who thought that packing a lunch was such a powerful tool to save money! Go figure! Dos Centavo's
