Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 4577230" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>A lot does get sent to Mexico but close to half goes to Central America.  Countries like Honduras and Guatemala are more expensive than they should be because of all the Dollars sent there.  Mexicans are actually much more likely to go home after earning enough up here to build a house and/or start a business.  Central Americans on the other hand have a much more difficult time traveling to the States and are much more likely to stay permanently.  When you see a lot of illegal immigrants in one house sharing expenses those are the ones more likely to be returning home eventually.  They live as cheaply as possible to build up savings.  People make the assumption that that's just the way they are used to living but it's a strategy to maximize their time here.</p></blockquote><p></p>
