So, I've been out on short term disability for the last 4 months. Before I left, I filled grievances for missing hours on two different paychecks. 43 in total. The Union called me on Friday and said that the company finally issued those checks. Anyone have any idea how much in penalty pay I can expect? It was the grey area, I had gone from part time to full time beg I got sick, but had not yet completed my 30 days.

Yeah, thanks. Pain pills do not always allow me to be fully lucid. Even when I get important phone calls. Which is why I asked the question.

One day my back hurt. The next day it hurt a bit more. Then, my arm started hurting and started hurting a lot. After x-rays cat scans and MRI's they determined I had a thing called chronic degenerative disc disease. I don't recommend it. It causes the nerves surrounding your spine to send false pain signals. Just because they are false though, doesn't mean you can't feel them.
That sucks, sounds like a career is over

No. Whatever it takes, I've got five more years to go, and I'm going to get there. I have a few more options we have not tried, both of them as surgery. But, regardless, I'm going back.

4 hours for the first two pay periods and 8 hours for each subsequent pay period. I agree with @Brownwind , if your resolution didn't include a request for penalty pay or at minimum "to be made whole in every way" you probably aren't getting any penalty

At the Local level hearing, the BA can "amend" the grievance to include penalty pay.

Assuming 4 months means 16 pay periods you are looking at 112 hours of penalty for each shortage.
