Hi all I have a question. I worked at UPS from 1977 until 1986 in the Accounting office in North Jersey. Am I vested? I have heard mixed answers. I have heard you are vested after 5 years. I thought I was and just want to make sure...it's been a long time since I left.

Thanks!

Most plans have five year vesting now, but back then, ten year vesting was common. And you needed a certain number of hours worked each year so, depending on what day of the year you were hired, and what day of the year you left UPS, your first and last years may or may not count toward vesting.

What Plan were you in? The "Management" Plan info is:

Thanks for the info. I was an hourly Accounting clerk. I remember being in a Thrift Plan, but I believe that was cashed out when I left. I really can't remember from that long ago. Do you think they would still have my info on file from then?
