The Vatican said it would provide edited footage of the encounter after the fact to accredited media, as it provides for other visiting heads of state. Bruni didn't say why the Vatican had originally announced fuller live coverage only to dial it back on the eve of the visit.

If you don't believe that life begins at conception, you can't practice Roman Catholicism. Because that's the basis of the religion. God created life. Life begins at conception. That's it. If you don't believe that, be a Methodist, Unitarian, or another Protestant sect that has no compunctions in their theology about abortion.

Interesting. Trumpees were telling me just last week in the Spoiled Americans thread that the Roman Catholic Church is "left wing", that the "Pope is cool with abortion" and that Catholic priests are nearly all for abortion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No. The Vatican is facing a small amount of internal opposition from US bishops to it's backing of Marxism and abortion supporting politicians.
The church is a left wing dictatorial political machine and a PR decision to keep the meeting under wraps was made.
