I watched Sen. Tom Coburn OK on C-Span yesterday and he said that even in the defense budget is over $50 bil in saving just by using better accounting practices. Current accounting in DOD according to Coburn fails vastly and should be updated and that alone would save and not effect one system or one soldier. I'm no fan of Rumsfeld but he was right in that a smaller, more nimble and technological miltary was the way of the future that would also be vastly cheaper. Granted we didn't see this as it was all hawgs to the trough but his concepts in cost was the way of the future if you accepted his overall POV of the military going forward.</p></blockquote><p></p>
