Trump calls America 'the highest taxed nation in the world'

What an idiot.....

sigh this is one of those issues where you kind of actually have to pay attention to the issue. He has always talked about the corporate tax rate .His point has been that corporations are moving out of this country because of it and moving their money with them rather then investing in the US. who's the idiot now?

Corporate Income Tax Rates around the World, 2016 - Tax Foundation

The United States has the third highest general top marginal corporate income tax rate in the world, at 38.92 percent. Due to the recent reduction in Chad’s corporate tax rate, the U.S. rate is exceeded only by the United Arab Emirates and Puerto Rico.

In all of his statements, tRUmp has never said ‘corporate tax rate’.

If that is what he means, he should say it. Words have meaning.

The fact of the matter is that most experts don’t believe lowering the rate will creat more jobs, or even better paying jobs. Most Fortune 500 companies pay nowhere near that rate, if they pay any tax at all. The average actual rate is about 22%.

Sigh, this is one of those issues where you kind of have to work really hard to be as dumb as you come off.

Even on paper, US corporate taxes aren't the highest, but that's irrelevant.

How many US corporations actually pay the 35%?

Effective tax, look it up.

After deductions and loopholes, US corporate tax is somewhere in the middle.

Trump lies again!!!

Or he actually doesn't know, not sure which is worse.

My personal effective tax rate is in the 12-13% range.

To be fair, @newfie, can you provide a list of corporations that pay actually pay 38.9% corporate taxes or show that other countries and regions allow for the same kinds of tax deductions that effectively reduce their tax burden 16%?

It will be fine

He talked about our worth increasing......not debt payment..........take out the earplugs and listen more carefully.
“The country, we took it over and owed over $20 trillion,” Trump said. “As you know, the last eight years, they borrowed more than it did in the whole history of our country. So they borrowed more than $10 trillion, right? And yet, we picked up $5.2 trillion just in the stock market. Possibly picked up the whole thing in the first nine months, in terms of value. So you could say, in one sense, we’re really increasing values. And maybe in a sense we’re reducing debt. But we’re very honored by it.”

Trump thinks the increase in the stock market has paid off the national debt. I'm starting to think he isn't really a business genius.

always the snowflake spin. people who listen understand what he said while the liberal bashers try to overanalyze the message to extract the context they seek.

He may as well have taken a knee.
No, taking a knee is a sign of submission, tRUmp has tried to redefine it. Joking and talking through the flag retreat is about the most disgraceful thing a person can do. For someone who claims to be CiC is absolutely beyond the pale.

By the way, tRUmp has still not acknowledged four dead Green Berets, or mentioned the white guy who tried to commit a terrorist attack at an airport. For that matter, he has not instated the new sanctions on RU, wonder why that is?
