Message: <blockquote data-quote="refineryworker05" data-source="post: 4947875" data-attributes="member: 66082">The other thing is we take American social issues like single parent homes, or poor educational outcomes, drug addiction, crime, etc and transform those issues into collective black racial failure caused by what is wrong within the black race.  This is a racist understanding of social problems.  The idea that black Americans are victims of government dependency and that dependency has created some black pathologies is again racist and ahistorical.In reality for most of American history black Americans were deprived of nearly ALL government assistance while still paying taxes.  What we see if we look at reality is a massive THEFT of tax money from black American taxpayers who were shut out of nearly all government programs into the pockets of white Americans, which benefitted from all kinds of government programs, into the pockets of white owned businesses, into building the infrastructure of segregated white neighborhoods, into segregated white universities, etc.It is this theft of black tax dollars and racist government policy that has led to higher white homeownership rates, the huge educational gains made by white men returning from WW2 which were cut off from black vets due to outright racism, It was this theft that lead to the building of housing wealth and homeownership programs that again black Americans were shut out from.  It went directly into the pockets of white business in the form of government contracts that black Americans were shut out from.What we do in America is friend black people over, steal from them disinvest in the areas they live, and the schools they attend, and then turn around and say well look, there is just something collectively wrong within the black race.You have a distorted view of American history and of reality.White Americans by far and away are the largest recipients of government handouts and money per capita and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.  So if getting money from the government created dependency then white Americans are the most dependent and it is not even close.</blockquote>
