Hello!

I had a question regarding a position I came across on the UPS job site....

I was intereste in applying for a Package Delivery Driver position as an "outsider". The job post has "temporary, seasonal full-time Package Delivery Drivers." in the job description.

What exactly does this mean "Temporary, seasonal" how can it be full time too?

Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks

Means you'll be "fired" by Labor Day. I actually signed my post dated termination papers the same day I got hired for seasonal work.

You'll work the peak season, Oct 15-Jan 15th. Possibly brought back for the summer vacation window June 1-Sept 15.

I worked two peak seasons as a casual before being brought on FT last year.

It means you'll work for approximately six months at their beck and call. Some weeks you might work one day, some six days. Then after Xmas you'll be let go. If they really liked you, and you did a great job you might have a 5% chance of being hired permanent a few months after you are let go. If you have a permanent job DO NOT QUIT for this.

Off the street drivers have a better chance of being kept on permanent now more then ever. But those chances are still slim.
