I was under the impression that you had a level of immunity for at least a few months after recovering from it.
Antibodies are inside your body, so for them to fight it off, the virus needs to be in it, as well. So you may test positive, while the antibodies are killing the virus.

That's how all vaccines work.

Most people who have had it...like me..think they are safer for a while
You are. At least most people are. Just like the vaccine natural immunity doesn’t put some barrier 3 feet outside of your body that doesn’t let the virus in. It just means that your body’s immune system is familiar with the foe it’s facing and much more likely to fight it off.


You may never show a symptom but that doesn’t mean you didn’t have it. Just means your immune system did was it was supposed to do.
