Raises confusion.

Hi I just got hired on permanently this past Friday after working seasonal for 3 months, I am a little confused about raises I have read the NMA and I know that I am still in progression after Aug. 1 does this mean I will only get the .50 raises for the life of the contract or just until I get to seniority, thanks a lot guys.

I'm with you. I probably will never agree with any candidates the union endorses because I'm a republican. I do however, stand behind Sean Obrien's stance on voting against any MA state pol. that voted against Governor Patrick's MA casino proposal.

The casino would bring more jobs and revenue to Massachusetts that is now going to the 2 casinos in Conn and the slots at Lincoln Park in RI. Other than that, I disagree with everything Governor Patrick and the MA democrats try to push through (tax, spend, and 6 weeks vacation for the toll takers on the MA Pike??????????????).

Sometime I'm ashamed to say I live here, LOL!!!!

By the way, I love your avatar. Its ALMOST as good as the eyeball!

I thought Romney was a great governor who couldn't get enough done because of the Democratic legislature.

On local talk radio I've often heard Massachusetts referred to as "The Peoples Republic of Massachusetts." LOL!

Can you believe it? How screwed up are the people of our state? I mean Massachusetts is probably as blue a state there is besides maybe CA. The fact that they can't work with a governor with whom they align themselves with just blows my mind!

Real quick. Did you know there is an option on our income tax form to pay an optional higher state income tax? Instead of paying the 5.3% (?), taxpayers are given the option to pay something like 5.8%.

Did you know 0.6% (or something like this) chose to pay the higher tax. 6+ million people live in MA, so 0.6% of taxpayers amounts to thousands of people choosing to pay more taxes!

What is wrong with people in this state? Can you believe this?

Why should a "dumb truck driver" get six weeks vacation but a toll taker not get the same? And if u think thats bad, in NYS, the toll takers can go to any school they want to and the Thruway Authority (people that collect our tolls) will pay for it, reguardless of cost. Granted the SUNY (state university of NY) is a very good value if ur a resident of NY but some people choose schools like RIT, U of R, canisius that costs 20K/ semster.
