In this case you don’t even have to leave chapter 10 to put more context. Just one verse above adds to the same passage in a different light. But if anyone denies me here on earth, I will deny that person before my Father in heaven”.Matthew 10:22 “And everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to me”Jesus was not on earth to overthrow the Romans.
