As if my life experiences don't matter. When I was humping for FedEx my life choices were bad because I didn't choose to work for UPS for more money. My life choices were bad because I chose to remain a courier instead of becoming a manager. Both were choices I was given the opportunity to make. I preferred to turn off the job when I clocked out and spend my time reading and following politics. If I could've gotten paid for that I'd have jumped at it because a typical day saw me do as much of that as I did working. It's priorities. You look at your possessions and take great satisfaction and pride in that. Appeals to you. Doesn't do a thing for me. My anger toward FedEx wasn't over not being able to buy everything I wanted. It was over having less freedom when I left. Not being able to help my family. I have a $1840 a month pension. If I had the pension and 401k I should've had I would be able to give my mother more than the $150 a month I give her. The $100 a month I give my dad. The $325 a month I give my wife. I don't care about the best house in the best neighborhood. And pretty sure many Native Americans don't care about that either.
