Thanks. I have been thinking about getting back on motorcycles. I have always had Harleys but looking to get a good touring bike with a sidecar for a cross country trip from Cali back to Massachusetts where I have a lot of family and friends. Most of our stimulus checks have gone to our childrens' families and that is a nice luxury to give. I'm kind of secretive on my hobby because of copycats. Have a couple in my area but they havent been able to keep up with my quality and perhaps don't have to passion for the long term. people could do this anywhere in the western states and it would affect me. If we had the room I would love to do motorcycles and cars. Have learned so much about restoration in the last 4 years that it would easily translate to that area. we would have to leave here and purchase a larger property with acreage and a Barn size for a shop. Right now I only have a 2 car garage and 1/3 of an acre. I have projects under tarps all over the yard and 2 neighbors have already com plained. I had to curtail my repair sideline because of complaints. I wasnt doing many but the town got wind of what we were doing and threatened me with fines. I asked them what was wrong with restoring stuff and reselling and they said nothing. But I cant make money repairing without a license. All I was doing with the money we made was to buy more projects , more tools , and pizza and beer. Sounds like you are having fun riding. I have been cross country 4 times, Vancouver , and Mexico and many small trips until I wrecked my custom built Sportster. Had about 70,000 miles on that 1000cc. The only breakdown I ever had was the generator . I kept up on maintenance and did have to do 2 top end jobs and one lower end. It was a 1977 when AMF built them.
