I saw where Butch Trucks of the Allman Bros. has died. Saw Butch with the Bros about a month after they recorded Live at the Fillmore when they played Park Center in Charlotte NC in April of 71'. A year later almost to the day saw them again but minus Duane at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. When they played In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, BB King came out and played with the Bros. What a music moment. Duane was asked once why he had 2 drummers (Butch and Jaimoe) and Duane said he wanted to do what Otis Redding and James Brown were doing by having 2 drummers. Everybody was influencing everybody back in the day.
RIP Butch. I'd like to think you've hooked up with Berry to lock down the rhythm section so Duane can run wild on the slide!
