I'd like to go to the terminal to talk to people, but I figure you can't get in due to security. Also, how would you find terminals in the area?

Google FedEx Ground routes for sale, there are web sites that will pop up, the bizquest one has quite a few Houston Tx routes for sale on it on page 2, hope this helps.

Stop a driver in the area and ask for the terminals phone number. Talk to a manager and say you're a prospective buyer and explain what you want to do. They'll let you come down.
