We have had routes move to and away from our building. I decided not to follow a route and am very familiar with the language. What the OP is asking about are temp moves and lots of what ifs. These are all questions that the local is going to have to help with. If it were a permanent move, the route holder will be asked if they are following the route. If not, the route will go up for bid. The winner will have 10 days to decide if they are keeping the route. In my building, we had 3 routes move to our building. 2 people followed them. 15ish years later, those routes moved back, that time only 1 followed it back. The 2 that left went up for bid and a low seniority guy signed it and kept it. The route that was unsigned was bid in the new center. The guy that won that bid still runs the route. There are dangers for a low seniority person to follow a route. We had 3 other routes move to a hub. 3 low seniority people followed. The area was relooped and the routes changed enough that everything was rebid. Only 1 person had enough seniority to keep his route, the rest went to cover driving.
