Saw a package driver union steward in Orlando.

I've been retired for nearly 5 years. Saw him on at the delivery building. Same local. Asked him if he was trying to run a number. Initially he was a little bit standoffish, then I started talking to him. Basically 30 year driver with his plaque on the side of the package car. He and I have a lot of stock pre 1999. Telling me as a shop steward he can't get nothing done. I know from local 385 as back in the day I had to utilize them for not keeping my mouth shut and not running numbers. I was a shop stewart for a short time. They brought in center managers on their last legs to retire in Central Florida and trying to work out deals with me which was of course as a shop stewart you have to bring your violin in because too many so called brothers will piss and moan and not file a grievance. Been to a lot of panel hearings They tried to fire me many times but I still have my pension now, living the dream. Center managers were fired that tried to take me out.
Now I hear that drivers bring packages back to the center and his barn someone was gone for 3 plus weeks and he still got his job back from what he said.
Was up for a feeder position twice. Passed everything. Package driver before me and I were discounted because of our age and years of service. They wanted young guys like in Jacksonville they hired 21-year-olds off the street going straight into feeders.
We concluded it was all about Carol Tome, the CEO and all about dei. She needs to get rid of so please vote her out if you own stock. Dividends are still good but it's a :censored2:show now as my average cost per share is less than $20 since I haven't bought any since 1999.
I've seen a lot of :censored2: that they transfer in managers from other centers within the mileage that they don't have to pay. It's kind of like a shell game like priests and bishops.

Have a nice day.

Loved doing going to the airport 44 mi away for early am's. Coming back doing my route and then on some days doing the pm taking the shuttle back to the airport to get the 13 hours in. They didn't like it. All about seniority and if you can make it back in time.

Where's my retroactive no tax on overtime? Haha. You young boys might be able to get it in 2025 tax year. God bless Trump. Work your ass off and pay off your mortgage as soon as possible. I did it one day before my 40th birthday.

Weren't you from Jacksonville @Johney ?? You might know this dude.

EAM's were the best out of MCO in the mid to late 90's. Plenty of windshield time with just a little hustle in a nearby office complex. Then back to the building for the porter gig. The good old days. Of course, OCA then car wash was a great gig too.

There's a dude in my building who does it and is retiring next year. Apparently he knows all the nooks and crannies of the AM route and runs it before his normal route which covers the same commercial buildings. He was talking about how its tiring (but does it for bonus) and I asked him why he doesn't tell management to :censored2: off and take it easy until he retires. I don't remember his answer but he's basically preventing an air driving position from being created. Bonus in our center is being taken away next year no point of him staying anymore.
