Will you blame the gun owner for this crime? Or, will you excuse it away like the rest of the gun freaks on this board?

its pathetic that a marine veteran can survive two tours in Afghanistan and then come home to be shot by a middle school kid with a gun he got from a gun owner who failed to secure his weapons.
As I have said before, there should be a law on the books in this nation that allows the gun owner to be charged for every death caused by his/her weapons. A 1 year jail sentence, removal of all guns and the stripping of all gun rights for this type of irresponsible gun owner.
In this case, the gun owner should be charged and held accountable unless this kid was a professional lock smith and was able to pick the lock of the gun safe the gun was stored in.
Maybe if the gun owners were held responsible for these kinds of shootings, the numbers would drop, but because gun owners are such fraidy cats they have to keep their guns under their pillows when they sleep, they provide the access for some whacked out kid to get that gun and settle their problems with it.
GUN owners are creating the monsters of tomorrow today.
