Seasonal Covered Under New Contract?

I read an article about UPS and FedEx hiring seasonals. It said UPS seasonal employees are covered by the new contract. Just what’s covered for them? Do they also need to pay union dues?

Looks like that’s $23/hour. Dues would slash that dramatically.

Does this include driver helpers? They get $20/hour. FedEx, my employer, is no doubt paying less for seasonal help. I know where I’d go.

I did it for a couple of peaks years ago. Definitely not a great job. Depends a lot on the driver you work with. I’m ok enough with my $29/hour FedEx driver job.

I think it’s set by the local. When I worked as a seasonal driver it was about $500 a month. And I received zero benefits under the contract. Robbery.

No one pays $500/mo for union dues. There may be an initiation fee, often times waived for seasonal workers, but the union dues would be about $58/mo, or $11.50/wk.

Basic :censored2:. You'll get a 10 minute break and up to an hour lunch. Dues are not bad where I'm at. Around $12.50 for part timers and maybe $30 something for full time. I'm not sure if you'd pay the part time or full time dues rate as an off the street seasonal.
