Shift Change Questions

I recently put in a shift change a week ago and have some questions on how to find certain things out. Some of the things I want to find out are:

1. How long should the process take (I know it depends on seniority) - I have 14 months seniority
2. How do I find out where I'm at on the shift change list seniority wise ( who's ahead of me)
3. If they've filled jobs on the other sort before processing my shift change

I ask these kinds of questions because I feel like my FT sup will try his best to drag the process out, and I just want to make sure I'm not being screwed out of anything. Any other input would be appreciated as well.

Your center should have a seniority list (by classification) posted somewhere in the facility. Ours is on the union bulletin board.

You need to read your local rider / supplement under PT employees and see what it says about changing shifts I would be there is a limit to how many people change shift during any one year.

Also in order to change shift they have to have a position open for you on the other shift you can't bump someone off the other shift because you have more seniority then them...
