harvard medical says 45,000 americans die unnecessarily each year because they cant get healthcare. to quote team america world police: thats 12 sept 11s each year.

meanwhile the america spends 50% of the federal budget on military empire (this includes costs of caring for the soldiers after they come home, long term interest, etc). insane!

wendel who wrote this story, was working for a big healthcare corporation and was originally hired to spy on michael moore when he was making his sicko documentary until he grew a conscience.

“If you ever had any health issue that required more than a simple doctor visit, you will know that it precipitates a seemingly never-ending series of forms, bills and letters,” Edwards wrote. “You will be paying bills months, years, later. And it’s almost impossible to correct a billing error. It’s stressful. I developed an intense hatred for health insurance companies in the U.S. because of this.”

i can tell you i would be :censored2:ed if i was relying on the american healthcare system.

How do you explain the Canadian athletes who cross the border rather than wait to receive medical care in Canada?

no idea...the system up here is highly regarded but its not perfect. maybe the athletes do it because it doesnt cost them anything (so the NHL pays) and because they are rich?

heres how it works:

you have a healthcare card issued by the government. you can choose any hospital or doctor you like and go in and give them your card or you may have to book an appointment for some doctors. wait up to 1 hour or so (unless its an emergency then its based on how urgent it is) and you are treated. to see a specialist it may take a few months but thats if its not an emergency.

our medicine is bought in bulk by the government so supposedly its cheaper, but its can still be expensive. sometimes employers cover some or all of the cost of medicine. its not like the UK where they have a flat cheap rate for all medicine of $15.

healthcare is included in the taxes. in BC you are taxed a monthly fee based on your income, and if you are poor theres no fee.

america is the only developed country not to have a right to healthcare.

It's not perfect? Your healthcare system sucks. That's why anyone in Canada with money comes to the US to have any procedures done.
The only ones that actually approve of the Canadian health care system are poor socialists that enjoy having equal health care treatment as the wealthy people get.

Sort of sick and twisted if you ask me.

Everyone in America including illegals do get free medical care . It's called going to the emergency room . Don't speak the lingo , no problem a translator will be provided . Costs are unimportant since others will be paying for it .

yea i heard that too about emergency rooms. so why are people paying for health insurance then?

i would also ask why are 45,000 people unnecessarily dying each year if the emergency room system works so well?

and why are so many people pushing for single payer including 60% of the population who wants it?

Yeah, equality is overrated.

the whole point of equality is because when you have economic inequality it also translates into political inequality. plus it doesnt make sense for one person to have billions, while everyone else is struggling to get by. that just creates crime, health problems, divorce, etc. makes more sense to have things more equal.

get back to me when you find another developed country which has a privatized low regulation health system like americas. ;)

Bankruptcies resulting from unpaid medical bills will affect nearly 2 million people this year—making health care the No. 1 cause of such filings, and outpacing bankruptcies due to credit-card bills or unpaid mortgages, according to new data.

the pbs of canada had a show called greatest canadian where canadian voted, and we voted the guy who gave us our socialist healthcare.

Too bad you Canadians value FREE STUFF over freedom. Too bad.

Freebies result in reliance of the government to survive, thus resulting in a government which has a measured control over its citizens, resulting in a restricted amount of freedom, it's all about control tactics and trickery with freebies, the unintelligent mind thinks it's getting something for free, they think the government cares for them, when in actuality the government is actually taking control over their lives, so therefore the unintelligent mind is an idiot who is actually controlled to a certain extent by the government, all while thinking all is well with the world and the freebies.....trickery at its finest
