If they breach that door and advance then you have the right to stop that threat. In your example if they broke down that door you would retreat to a bedroom ? Now they break down that door. Now you retreat to a bathroom and they break down that door ? How far do you allow it to go?You draw a line in the sand and protect it.Someone of you have no idea what real violence  is.
